Did you end up walking around the rattler that wouldn't move?
You do a great job of narrating the trip along the way.
I am no expert but your hammock seems skinny to me.
Then again I read where some people like shorter/narrower ones, so who knows.
It does take some time to get dialed in - so my advice is to practice more.

I did end up just walking around that one on the trail. I tossed stick near his tail and he never moved. Oh well.
Skinny? Could be. I'm pretty new to hammock hanging but I think I made it to general specks.... Can't recall exactly how wide. Maybe 42"?
