I am planning on heading up to the Pecos Baldys this weekend, starting tomorrow....haha, I know kinda silly to post now, but just thought I would throw it out there to see if anyone else will be in the area.....

Darn man!!! That woulda been nice to have some company!
I will post a full report with pics when I have time, but everything went well. Some of the road heading up has minor washout from recent rains, but nothing bad.
The hike was amazing, through Aspen lined trails, grassy meadows, clear water, even through the Jaroso burn scar. The trail had a lot of downed trees in the burn scar, but everything seemed to have a little alternate path already cut. Water was abundant and clear....as I do on every trip, I drank a fair amount of untreated water, it was delicious and I am not sick. (this was from a good source, high up near the lake, not down by the cows)
The lake was beautiful, and the Baldy impressive. Hiked the Baldy in the morning, put myself in the hurt locker!
Will post a report soon....
We will have to hook up Frenchy
Sounds great, I'm glad it's still a nice hike. Were there big burned areas right next to the trail by the lake? Love the view from Baldy. My favorite segment in all of the Pecos is the Skyline trail from the lake to Truchas lake, beautiful ridge hike. Yeah let's hang. (a little late in the season but oh well)
Frenchy (posting here so others can get info), yah it is still a great hike. The burn area begins shortly after Jacks Creek and continues for maybe a mile, so it ends well before the lake. Trail is still there and passable, but with little side skirting to avoid trees and the "fire-mud" brought about by the water not able to soak into the ashy soil.
The lake is ace, saw a fellow BP'er there, he was having a nice time up there just chillin.
Setup with my Warbonnet Ridgerunner and Spindrift sock.....weather was cool, and definitely cool now with the changing temps....
