One other housekeeping related item. It was mentioned earlier that there will be a pay-it-forward bucket for gear (any gear, not necessarily backpacking related). I have a bucket/tub I can bring to use. For those that are newish to PIF its a great way to pass along useful items that you no longer have use for. You can pick out stuff for free, and the only thing you are expected to do is pay-it-forward by either adding something of yours to the bucket, the PIF thread on the forums, or via another PIF bucket/box. So please, everyone, try to bring something to add to the bucket. The more stuff we have, the more likely others will find something useful. OHTIAHT! (The first one to figure out what that means gets first pick from the bucket )

Regarding sites, I like Dylan's thinking. Let's stay contiguous by getting 220 and 212. (Thanks guitargeek76 for the video. 226 did look like a good site.)

EDIT: Just checked online and 220 is no longer available. Only site in the whole campground that's been rented by someone other than us. I guess we'll just stick with the three we have and pick others after we arrive friday and get the lay of the land.

I'd rather we have five, sites even if there are some no shows, because I'd like the rangers to get a favorable impression of hammock campers and our group in particular. Stokes is cheap. Less than half what it would have cost at Dingmans.

They will be $40 for a two-night walk in reservation if you're from NJ.
