GoLite Z30 or Flight Jacket

I was all set to pick up one of the Z30 long quilts on sale now, but the Underground Quilts sale has me considering a 20 degree Flight Jacket that is available for 10% off if you get the 700 DWR duck down. After paying local sales tax on the Z30, I'm guessing there is only about a $25 premium for the 84" Flight Jacket once the discount and shipping is added.
The Flight Jacket comes in about 6 oz. heavier, but I really like the DWR down and shell. I'm guessing based on ratings and fill weights that the Flight Jacket is a warmer quilt, even though others have commented that the Z30 may be conservatively rated at 30 deg.
I also like supporting the vendors on this forum, so I am just trying to justify spending a few extra $$.

Thoughts/ suggestions?

The regular z30 weights 21.7 oz. The 72" duck flight jacket is 15.5 oz.

I wouldn't even consider the $25 a premium. A HF vendor and the flight jacket would be my choice all the way - no question!

You have the classic choice of cheaper and a pretty good value from GoLite versus slightly more expensive but VERY well built and supporting a local vendor (an extremely nice couple btw). I bought a couple of the 40* GoLite single season quilts because they were so cheap on closeout that I couldn't afford not to (in my best used car salesman voice) and because I hadn't met Paul and Missy yet. I don't regret it because the price really was so low and they are good TQs.

The quality of their workmanship is incredible and all of their gear is very well built. I bought a tarp from them earlier this year and love it. My vote with your money is UGQ

Just scored a flight jacket, there are features on the quilt that I didn't know about from reading their site. Paul & Missy are great people, their attention to detail is top flight. And I know personally the customer service from golite can't touch UGQ. And I can't imagine the Chinese are going to be close the UGQ's quality.

You misread UGQ's charts. The 72" has 15.5oz of down fill for a total weight of 24.74oz.

The Regular Z30 is most comparable to a UGQ 78"x55" quilt, but it sits right in between the 20 and 40-degree quilts in terms of down fill so there's no direct apples-to-apples comparison. To achieve the same size and temp rating as the Z30, a 700DD UGQ would weigh around 25oz.

Say what you will about GoLite, but when the Long Z30 is $180 with free shipping and the comparable (same fill, size, and temp) UGQ is ~$265 + shipping, that's pretty darn good value for money.

I have one of Paul's 0* Flight Jackets in the standard length, DWR down, but 55" wide. I is the nicest quilt I have ever owned. The quality if it is incredible. Worth every dime it cost.
