The thing about IX is it is nearly a vapor barrier and you may have condensation problems. Both of the IX and 2.5 climashield will take you down to about 45 or so depending on how warm or cold a sleeper you are.
I would do some searching on the forums about IX and read how it behaves before making a decision. Some like it, some don't. When used properly it's very nice.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

how well does ix compress?
Not really at all. It's not a terrible material to work with, weight-wise, for the warmth.
My problems with it were condensation and pack volume: I sleep way too warm and in too humid of a climate to make use of it well, and it doesn't like to pack down any smaller than it already is (due to the fact that it's, essentially, perforated CCF). YMMV, though.
