    Best MacCat Anchoring Method?

I just bought a MacCat Deluxe hex tarp and was investigating it a little bit. I was wondering what the best method for anchoring the tarp to hold up in high winds. I was debating using beaners to clip to each of the 6 hooks and tying the other ends to some simple aluminum tent stakes. Would this way work alright or do you guys have some other approaches to this?

    Thanks

I use the Figure 9 tent line kit for the bottom tie-outs, additional Figure 9s for the ridge line, and MSR Groundhog stakes.

Light nylon utility line with Fig 9s attached for the ridge. Either yellow mason line from Home Depot, or Speer No-Tangle on the ground ties; no Fig 9s. MSR Groundhogs.
    Trust nobody!

A couple of considerations and my approach to them.
    1. In high wind situations..... you know the tarp will need to give and go a bit or something may get overstressed. Therefore I use these on the tieouts to stakes with Figure 9's as adjusters.

I also use Figure 9's for the ridgelines. I do not however use any tensioning devise on the ridgelines.

    2. In non windy situations where you want to create an awning with hiking poles....the Figure 9's can be adjusted to do this easily.

There are several great ways to do this...those on the forum will reveal their approach but ultimately you will have to play around with your tarp, consider what you like and don't like and morph into your own way of doing things like we all do. That's the fun of it! Good luck.

I use figure 9's on the ridgeline and JRB self tensioning lines for the side tieouts along with Vargo titanium ascent stakes for my Maccat deluxe. Lots of options are available, but these work really well for me.

I bought some figure 9s and MSR groundhogs cheap from REI and I have the guyline kit from Brian at OES. I don't know how the guyline will hold up in windy conditions. I am having some trouble finding line for my ridgeline. Do I need cord that has a certain test strength or is just plain jane braided nylon cord strong enough for the ridge line and/or side tie-outs?

I use mini bungee tiedowns with MSR groundhogs. If I need to put my tarp in porch mode I have some mason line to extend it out.
