making a full rig for a lucky webelos 2

I had planned on making something for each boy bridging but the web 2 leaders want tl make first aid kits.
So I am going to make a full rig for at least one boy.
I have a 9' roll of tyvex and enough material to make a bugnet and I have enough amstel and zing it.
My question is what's the difference between the crinkle taffita and plain poly table clothes. I was looking at tablescloth.com and choosing between 70/126 or 90/156. ( I am not sure the exact but they were 9.50 and 13.50. I am not concerned about the price but the cheaper one doesn't say crinkle tafita but I thought the smaller one would be better for a scout.
If this goes well (sewing skills are in question) I will ba making more for my sons group who bridges next year.
Another question what dimentions should the tarp be? I will want the option of doors and it can be longer then 9' but not wider.
    Thanks in advance.

The plain polyester is much heavier and generally thought to be much less comfortable and I'm thinking a young scout will be swimming in a 90x156 (not to mention the pack space required).

Take a serious look at the 60x126 crinkle taffeta version.

For tarp - if 9ft width is the max, I'd do 11' x 9' rectangle if you want to keep it simple. Add tie outs at the corners and about 3 ft from each end to make doors. You could also try something similar to the winter tarp design found here.

I was looking on my phone. I wasn't considering size when I saw the difference between crinkle and non. I had figured to let it be a little big so they could let it out as needed. You told me exactly what I was looking for. Heavier and not as comfortable. I will stick with crinkle and probably get the size u said. Thanks.

in looking at some of the diy sites it appears the tablecloth factory is the cheapest deal. I will see if I can find something in a local store first. Thanks again
