    Sewn foot box

So real soon im going to be in the market for a winter top quilt. I was just wondering your preference of a sewn footbox verses the snap. I know my 20 degree top quilt with the snaps has a small circular opening (since the draw cord cant close completely). Will cause a draft? I am especially concerned with winter. I don't want a draft coming through.

For strictly winter, I'd go with the sewn foot box. I use a snap0* quilt because I don't winter camp, but nights where I camp are generally cold and I'm a very cold sleeper. It's great to be able to open it up on the rare warm nights.

I was thinking about getting the snap box and if its an issue just shoving a shirt or something in end to block the draft? Is this a good idea?

I went with the sewn for my winter quilt, can always pull a foot out if I get too hot.

    Cheers

You can get a pretty good seal with snaps if you put a plug in the small opening left from cinching, but it is a pain in the butt that I would prefer to not deal with. If you're only going to winter camp with it, go with sewn.
