I have to work the morning of 10/5, but I might could come out that afternoon and possibly stay that evening. bear island is a big island, can you tell us aproximatly where the campsite will be? The times I've been to the island I'm always on the east side. I'm guessing camp site is more west side if you're paddeling from elm hill marina?

I had to cancel a hike due to recovering from a recent illness but plan b was to go out to the island next weekend to get some paddle and hang time. I figured we would run into each other on Bear Island one weekend

When we were there earlier in the month the lady at the shack said that Sunday 9/6 was their last day. Glad to hear it is open thru Oct.No its not closed.I am on bear island right now. It closes Oct 31st lol
Beautiful morning on bear island. This morning there was fog over the lake.I cooked big breakfast of hash browns and sauce and eggs.I had 2 big 24 oz jetboil mugs of cappuccino. Next weekends hangout will be awesome. As always it will be fun
