    Video:AT..Tray Mountain Wilderness Area

Went to N Ga for a few days of hiking on the AT thru the Tray Mountain Wilderness Area to Unicoi Gap. The first day was a short hike in after the 6 hour drive and on the next day it started raining and after dark really started raining and never quit the rest of the hike. I didn't get a lot of video footage I could use because the lens always had drops of water or vapor on it. I will say after striking camp in the rain a few times and me having the only hammock, I was the only one with dry sleeping arrangements. The first night we stopped at Deep Gap Shelter and after two other groups came in, out of seven of us, other than one person, everyone there was 65 to 73. That's pretty good to see that many of us old farts still climbing mountains. I apologize for such a short video but we had a good time even with the rain.

    Thanks for the laugh Firebird

Too bad about the rain but good to be out anyway.

Oh and the map looked good - you'll be teaching me next.

Nice to see the youngsters out and about. Love your map reading skills.

Thanks for the encouragement, sometimes I get to thinking I'm the only old fart out there.

Hi Tall Paul, I had to throw something in there to try to take up the slack for the short vid to make you laugh. Glad you got the map installed on your computer, keep plugging away with that software, it's easy to learn. Let me know if you hit a snag. Thanks for watching!!!

Sir, you are far from the only one. I was tickled to death to see and talk to them (even though one was a funeral director). Sometimes their problems make yours seem small. One man was on his third set of hips (one from mother nature and two from Dr Invention). I've logged almost 800 miles this year, it hurts but it's worth it!! Old farts is good people and welcome at my campfire anytime! Thanks for watching!!

South Bound is the best direction, every step is one step closer to home

I really do find that traveling south bound on the Georgia sections are a bit easier that going north.
That part of the trail is some of my favorite.

Very, very nice. I cant wait to do some of the AT myself.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

Kellys Knob is the worst part of that stretch!
