For the people who have switched to the Leigh-lo method of UQ suspension, how long did you make the shock cord section in relation to the length of your UQ? The same length as UQ, or a lil shorter? If shorter, how much shorter?

The effective length of the shock cord "tails" at the end of my Leighlo UQ is 24 inches, exactly half the length of the quilt. The measurement is when the cord is doubled up on itself (see picture). This is one of the last quilts that Leighlo made.
The effective length of the lash-it on the other end of the quilt is 32 inches. This is also its total lenght, as it is not doubled-up like the shock cord.
Ok now I'm confused. I thought the shock cord ran through the side channels and then the static line (lash it, tech line, etc) was what was doubled up running from the shock cord up to the mitten hook and back down to the line lock at the corner. Am I mistaken? I was going by the Youtube video Hangnout did.

The latest version doubled the shockcord the length of the UQ plus the length needed outside of channel on the head end.
The footend is just a single cord going from lineloc3 to attachment point.
I realized some of the videos were only available on Leigh's website. I made them public now. This one explains the latest version.
BTW the quilts shipped had way more cord than needed. You can also use a combination of spectra cord and shockcord to save weight. In the end I found it was just simpler and room for error to use all shock cord.
