    First WBBB XLC Hang

I finally was able to hang my new XLC last night. What a great piece of gear. The only issue I had was the I couldn't get the ridge line loose enough as is shown on the WB BB video. I loosened the web suspension quite a bit and with no load it was plenty slack. When I got in the hammock the RL was very tight, not very bendable at all. I'm wondering if the trees were to far apart (approximately 18 ft)and not allowing me to get enough sag. I may have to find trees that are closer together (12-15 ft) and see if that works. Any other ideas?

When the trees are further than fifteen feet try hanging the straps as high on the trunk as possible. Now you'll get the swag needed for a looser ridge line. If that doesn't work, order yourself a hangle from Dutch and you'll get a perfect thirty degree hang.
Give a man enough ripstop and he'll hang himself.

The tautness of the RL is just an indicator of the hang angle, if it's loose you're probably steeper than 30 deg, if it's tight you're probably flatter than 30 deg, anywhere in the 25-35 deg range will be fine so it's not mandatory that you have a certain amount of tension in your RL, you obviously want the RL not sagging so it supports the netting, if the RL is SUPER tight that is simply an indicator that your ssupension is probably a little tighter than needed, as far as comfort goes, hanging the head end lower will do more for comfort than the suspension angle or RL tightness

Thanks Warbonnet Guy. I'll rely more on keeping the head lower for comfort. I will say that when I had it up it was absolutely comfortable once I found the sweet spot.
