Actually, shipping 'across the border' is cheaper from Canada than from the US.

In the US, you have cheap 'inside the lower 48' shipping.
USPS really jacked up their prices last year. And the companies like UPS and FedEx really gouge Canadian customers with bogus 'brokerage charges' (on top of any tax payable)....
I don't understand why US retailers don't put pressure on to change the situation.

If an item has been used (perhaps not too clean?- what's with 'smells like campfire' ??) and damaged and repaired (perhaps not very skillfully- I noticed one 'glued repair to mesh'... ) I certainly would want to pay much less than half the retail price.

(....keeping in mind that there's probably 100% markup from factory to retail on this stuff.... )

I only checked one price - a repaired Deluxe on the eBay listing for $145 ($130+15 shipping).
I can get the same thing new from MEC for $200 including (free) shipping, if I'm reading the descriptions correctly.
That's not enough discount for me!

BTW- about shipping costs- the eBay listings show the same shipping ($15) to the US or Canada, and 2nd, 3rd items ship free. So it's really mostly a 'handling charge', I think. I think Hennessey has a warehouse 'across the line' in WA; perhaps they are shipping from there to the US?

Its Flat Rate shipping, just like the USPS has. If it fits, it ships.

I grabbed a hex fly for $62 including tax and shipping. Not too bad.

If you are in Canada, you will pay the tax on top of the item as well.

Is there really only one item left for sale? Will there be more posted this year? Jeez, I missed this by one day and seems like it all got bought up.

Sure looks that way. What were you looking to buy? I know last year they had a second round of stuff 2 weeks after the first.

Nothing specific but may have gone for something if tempted enough. Last year there was plenty of things left for several days of perusing.

It was mostly hammocks, a few overcovers, snakeskins, one tarp and those water collection things. No super shelters or other insulation.

Well it looks as though there were some that were willing to pay the slightly discounted prices as there is only one item left for now. In previous years I remember Tom running the sale a second time, usually not too long after the first one was done but not sure on this year as I didn't receive the email lists this year.

Yep, I picked up my first Hammock the ultralight Backpacker.
    Hopefully a good choice?
