    New hanger from CT

Been hanging around here for a while first as a guest and finally a couple weeks ago I decided to register. We had been hanging on a Pawley island rope hammock until the a try fell on it.

So when I decided to replace it I bought an Appalachian Original. After I got it set up and my wife got in it and decided she wanted one for herself so we ordered her a ENO double. Currently we are using tree huggers, whoopie slings and toggles for suspension, but looking forward to trying other suspension options.

Best of all she felt that she would like to try hammock camping. So I'll be looking at a set of quilts and tarps.

I would like to thank everyone for the information that seems to flow so freely on HF.

Hi Talox, Welcome to Hammock Forums! I like it when I see my fellow Nutmegs joining up and getting in on the fun of hanging! Hebron, CT. is a nice area, lots of trees to choose from for hammock camping.

I have yet to make it to any of the group hangs(maybe this Winter), but maybe we will meet sometime at one... until then Happy Hanging!!

Welcome to the forums, Talox. The forums contain a wealth of information on just about any subject. Try the diy route - it's a great deal of fun.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

I'm considering it.. It will depend on whether or not I have the gear for a winter event. I just ordered a pair of 20* quilts and a tarp from Paul @ UGQ. So I should be OK from that aspect. I'll have to inventory my old scout equipment for other winter gear.

And thank you all for the warm welcome.
