    I guess mine is about 24". I like it so I'm just able to sit in my Hennessy opening with my feet barely on the ground.

    Ya, I like being 18-24 inches off the ground. No rules needed, just do what feels right!

    Never heard that rule... normally, I try to find trees that are 5-6 paces apart... at that distance, I know how high to set my tree huggers to get my butt about "chair high" for me, and if i'm off, it's easily adjusted.

    Sometimes I deliberately hang really low so I can mound leaves up under me to get a couple more degrees of warmth out of the underside of things, but that hasn't happened too often.
