Ah, just realized another benefit of using a sleeping bag instead of a top quilt: my pillow fits inside the head box (?) and won't go anywhere! :-)

I use the Black Rock pillow when out on the trail as it is only 2 oz and gets the job done for me. A lot of folks think it flattens out too much, but it works for me. I have a Hammock Gear pillow too that I use when sleeping on the floor at a friends house or when traveling to a hotel. It weighs 4 oz and works very well in the hammock as well and I will take it backpacking in the cooler weather for some additional head insulation. I have used my Nano Puff as a pillow, but I flop around in the hammock at night and need something tethered to my ridgeline and sometimes at 4am I catch a chill if using my 45* sleeping bag as a top quilt and will pull on the Nano Puff. As such I don't like to use parts of my clothing system with my sleeping system as sometimes I want to use both functions of same piece of gear at the same time.

Travel pillow sleeve stuffed with already packed clothing for me. I find neck support much more important than head support - beanie insulates my noggin.
I've been using a neck support, memory foam pillow but I really don't like it in my hammock. I think a new DIY project is in order.

I have been using this pillow http://www.jacksrbetter.com/shop/arm...travel-pillow/ and it works well. Bit of a weight penalty for the luxury of it though.
Thanks for all the input, you gave me a lot to think about and I will let everyone know which one I go for.

Wouldn't a all down pillow just kind of crush under you? Or do people mix down with some sort of spun filler to hold up the weight?
