    First success!

It's not much but it's a start. My first continuous loop. Tried for 12" but ended up with 13"

Yup! I started like that and now I'm trying to figure out a way to splice my shoelaces into whoopieslings so I don't have to tie them. No luck yet though.

I have 100ft' of amsteel to pick up today from a weekend sale....so this looks like an excellent first project to cut my teeth on and feed the diy addiction journey.

3 down, 1 to go. Then I'm going to try to build a Turtle Lady Stand when I get home.

We're taking the scouts camping this weekend and I found out that the nice wooded site we normally use at this campground is already spoken for. The one we got is more like an open field.

Congrats! Getting the first one within an inch of what you wanted is great. I'll bet more people end up with it shorter than desired.

You now know most of what you need for all the things we splice.

I use cord locks on my around-the-house-no-one-else-sees-them shoes.
