    first thread injecting project

I got an idea from someone on here who had made a cat hammock. This seemed like a good first project for me, since I have three cats. The biggest cat would NOT go in it, the medium cat said "meh" and little Squeakers had to be convinced, but finally sat in there long enough for a picture. I won't take their reaction to heart...

    You sewed up a kitty?
Is there a sticky for that? I must have missed it.
I saw the "How to mod your puppy" thread. But a kitty..I need video.

    Good work.

If you look at the pics, she made it disappear.

    I think.

thanks guys, it was a lot of fun to make. My next project won't be with a stretchy material though, I found it really hard to keep my seams straight on this, and since I used contrasting thread so I could see what I was doing, it's really obvious (don't think the kittykats care though).
Could be a stuff sack next!

    Not a big problem.
If you are turning hems that are too wide to see the markings on your needle plate, you can put a piece of masking tape (remove after use) on the bed of the machine to use as a guide.

Also, experiment with the upper thread tension setting, needle size, and stitch length to get nice even stitches - your result should look like the stitching on a commercial product...which it may be already (I couldn't see much detail in your pics.) Cute kitty, BTW.

that's a good idea, VictoriaGuy, especially since this machine is so old it doesn't even have markings on the needle plate. It's so shiny I could use it as a mirror if I wanted to!
