Granada Park / Phoenix, AZ / Day Hammock Hang

    Hi Hammock Forum!!!

Got another adventure with some goodies to post. Thought I might just do a day hang locally (no Hiking) . Turned out to be awesome!! Did a Hang at Granada Park in Phoenix, AZ. Nothing like hanging in the hammock uninterrupted for 8 hours . Just me, my Nano and my Jack-R-Better Tarp... ENJOY!!!

Just a quick note: if there is anyone in the AZ area that would like to get together and hang, send me a message. I will be glad to have company.

    Here are some pictures:

That's a cool spot! Your own picnic table--lakeside! I'm surprised the cops didn't hassle you; it looks like you could LIVE there!

Very creative use of rocks for your tarp guy-outs. Thanks for sharing.

Yea, It was awesome. I did expected the police or the park facility to hassle me also. But actually, as I was 1st setting up (about 8am), I had a park official zoom right pass me on his little golf cart. I just knew he was going to hassle me....but nope he waved and zoomed on by. Now if I was there pass park hours (10pm)....maybe a different story.

Yea, Its something that I am going to do once a month. Believe me, it was more than relaxing. It was almost as good as being in the middle of nowhere hanging.

    AWESOME!!!!

OLDNTATTED....I hope you meant Maryvale, AZ. Does not seem to be a Maryville.

My next "hang only day" will be Sat, OCT. 19th at Cesar Chavez Park in southwest phoenix. I will be there early (7am) but you are welcome to hunt me down and hang out whenever. I usually leave around (4pm). I should not be hard to find. I will be the only guy hanging in a hammock in all CAMMO!!! Cant miss me and my NANO!!!

Hope to see you out there!!!

Yes I did mean Maryvale, Should have seen that type o ( past chair of the Maryvale village planning committee)OOOPS!

Anyway... That date is just fine with me. That park has Alvord lake with it and you can put in non-motorized boats... That means we can tool around in my Sea Eagle inflatable kayak. Ever been? Now's the time to learn if not.
I have all the accouterments to go with it. Just can't fish off the boat. The next best thing to hangin' is to kick-it in a boat, just lay back let the waves rockkkk yyyyyou ttttttto sleeeeeeeep............OR you get seasick and puke.

Hey! I made a new set up for cooking with canteen cup, and Trangia stove. Breakfast of Scrambled eggs, oatmeal, and coffee are on me, till the eggs run out that is. Have you ever done any Geocaching before. We just started that this year, the wife only does the ones in town, so I'm looking to do some overnighters to find the deep woods caches. Interested?
