    Pillow hat- worked perfectly!

So I have been struggling with how to keep a pillow in my hammock for some time. I have tried the shock cord trick and since I move around so much while sleeping I would still lose my pillow so i made me a pillow hat. It might look a little goofy but works perfectly. I slept in it last night down to the upper 30's. I used polar fleece for the shell and used down and feathers to fill the pillow portion. Just wondering what you all thought!

I'm thinking it's very innovative but that you are going to have feathers poking the back of your head unless that is a downproof polar fleece.

I lined the inside of the pillow portion with 1.1 ripstop as an added layer from the down. I think if I make another one I will just make the down pillow and insert it in the hat and sew it up. Would be a lot easier. I did not have any down come out last night but I'll keep an eye on it.

You are correct that this will likely not make you a fashion icon.
However, it's a really good idea. Keeps your dome warm and pillow at the ready. Mission accomplished! Nice Work.
    Directionally challenged...comicly so.

Not all who wonder are lost...But I'm probably just lost.

I like it, and I can only imagine what others might come up with in this same line. Being of the bald head variety, I can totally see myself with something like this in the cold times.

Interesting. One could possibly rig a Head Buffs and an existing pillow to work like this.

I'd add a loop to it somewhere so you can use the shock cord in the summer when its too warm to sleep with a hat on.

This is great I like the idea of just having the insert.

I can so see this on some info commercial. You may become rich! It does look silly yet very practical. Nice job.

I knew I had seen this done already but couldn't remember specifics.
