But back to the topic, I've gotten a few people into hammock camping that never thought about leaving the yard with the Enos they had. I would agree that there isn't the prevalence in the upper Midwest that others have talked about.
    what is that hung from?

Rush parking garage (600S, 1600W). Ended up getting kicked out by security, something about it being a liability... Got a few good pics first though. Also, square concrete columns are hard on the straps.

Here in Ohio I saw my first hammock camper (other than me) earlier this fall. I know they're out there (I see them on the forum here), but it was the first time I'd seen any.

There are 8 to 12 hammocks in the picture below, they are the rental ones my college just started offering.

Lotta students at the U of Ark have hammocks (usually ENOs, since there's a small outdoor store on campus that sells ENO and Grand Trunk) clipped on their backpacks. I see 'em hanging occasionally.

I work on campus, but I've never brought a hammock with me to work. Not enough good trees (or other supports) on my side of campus. I keep thinking about it, though, for a lunchtime break.

They've gotten very popular with the Boy Scout troops around here, too, which has been fun to watch. They like to stack 'em high.

I saw either a truck or football commercial today with a player hanging in the back of the truck and a guy adjusting his suspension which was a strap come along. Made me wish my bed was a bit longer.
