I use an exped pad (the down filled one) Since my hammock has those outside pockets and my stuff is in them... I just don't see a way that I can use an under quilt. The pad I use, I've got 2 of them, a reg length 9 that I'll use when the temps are going to be freezing or lower and a short 7 for the rest of my hanging trips. They don't move much when I'm in my hammock either. My husband (he's 6'4") tried them and said they were not wide enough. So even though they work fantastic for me, for someone larger... maybe not. The under-quilts look easy to make w/climashield (not the down ones) and I wish there was a way I could figure out how to make one work with my hammock because I sure would try it.
