Where in Canada?

Hi.

Do you know where i could find Amsteel blue rope and 1" polyester webbing in Canada? At worst i will order in USA but in my own country would be easier (customs) and cheaper.

I searched for a canadian source for amsteel without any success for ontario,
but did find a vendor in BC. In the end I ordered some through an Ebay store
at a very good price even with the exchange rate and border taxes. I
bought 500 ft to get me through hopefully several years of DIY.

Renewing this old thread as it was all the search engine coughed up.

Has anyone had any luck finding a Canadian source of Amsteel 7/64 yet? Or at least a US supplier with reasonable shipping to the frozen north?

Not sure if this will be of any help but if you have access to any sailboat gear suppliers thats a good place to look.

I bought mine from AHE since I could not find a Canadian supplier. Shipping wasn't too bad IIRC. You could probably contact Paul and see if he'll ship it First Class which is the cheapest. I never tried calling and asking since I have not paid any tax or duties on my orders so far so iI think it evens out.

I Halifax here some guys bought from the Binnacle, it is expensive though. the other places that sell in town only sell bulk

Go to the West Marine web site, and order from one of their Canadian stores.

If that doesn't work out order a spool and become the Canadian source for smaller lengths.

West has stores in Barrie, Kingston, Midland, Oakville and Toronto. If it is not in stock, the store will order it in for you. Given Amsteel is VERY popular with the sailing and motorboat crowds, they will likely have it.

For what it is worth we do ship all Canada orders 1st class and if the site overcharges on shipping for some reason we try to take care of that once we have the actual shipping cost. We do send a few thousand feet north every month.
