    What weather shield?

Just curios to what weather shield's you guys use on your hammocks? I'm supposing it nothing special. My hammock is supposed to be here this week. I just wanted to see what works for you or what kind of concoctions you have came up with.

I'm half way done (broke the needle) making one out of a Neat Sheet.

I use my poncho. I carry it anyway, so it is multi-use.

The JRB DriDucks poncho works well and it's a multi-use item. That's always good.

If you feel like a little DIY, follow KMACK's advice and make a WS from a Neat Sheet.

My "4-in-1" is a fitted layer of 1.1 oz ripstop nylon. I've been snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug down to freezing in the rain. I started with a travel hammock sans the hanging apparatus under my "real" hammock. Once upon a time I used the 2nd layer to hold a Therma-rest, then a CCF pad. Now the 2nd layer protects my beloved DIY quilt from potential rain splashes, and I can lace it up to create a cocoon around both under and over quilts and thus close off any wind gaps. COZY!

    p.s.
I have a neat sheet "quilt / under cover" for summer time hanging. It worked great on a long hike last summer, but if temps are expected to be low, I want my goose down, and the ripstop WS is much lighter weight, and less bulky ...
