I've run into similar situations a few times (not at HF) with buying from 'private sellers' online. I know how irritating it can be.
After some thought, my reaction in each case was:
"It's a good thing that I got my money back, and that I will not be dealing with this person any more. Imagine the hassles I would have had if there had been a problem in shipping, or if there was a problem with the item. In fact, perhaps the seller backed out because he discovered something wrong with the item at the last minute. No point trying to force somebody to sell me an item; there'll be another available eventually."

There is no point in a public hanging. The mods will deal with the situation as they see fit.

I recently had a buyer back out on Ebay after payment was received-I refunded his money no questions asked and promptly relisted the item...Sure it was a bummer but the relist cost me nothing and another buyer quickly snapped it up. You received a Full Refund-There are NO Guarantees on Anything. As far as I know Sales on HF are NOT Legally Binding Contracts. Items can get lost in transit, damaged,etc...And That's Not a Reflection on Hammock Forums-That's just the way it goes sometimes...............

I have talked to the other party involved and from what we can gather there were delays and miscommunications between both parties. There will be no action from the Mods at this point. From what we can tell no one is at fault. So business as usual.
