(VA)Rockhouse Trip: 10/26/13

Had a short hiking trip this weekend to a local place called Rockhouse...Most of the people was camping inside the cave. So I got this idea I wanted to hang in the cave somehow...So after some thinking and ideas, here's what I came up with.

one 16 ft ridgeline pole
three tripod poles
and a crack in the cave wall

Tarp wasn't needed, and I didn't want to get ashes from fire all over me and equipment, so I slung this over me instead of my guide gear tarp...

Temps got down into lower 40's/high 30's, and I stayed way beyond toasty in my setup:

DIY Down UQ
0* Down Chinook Red Flash
Grand Trunk UL

Clothing:
Bottom Thermal layer
Tshirt
Wool Socks

Its about a 35-45 minute hike from parking lot at 611...

and Thanks man, UQ don't look very snazzy, but its functionality is beyond what I expected..
