    They are just carabiners. On each end of the fence post are these little fence post caps which cover the sharp edges of the fence post. These caps also have a place where you can feed through some rope or a carabiner.

    What webbing to buy for constant use?

    Here comes the booing and hissing but rope works really well and I find it easier to stuff in your bishop bag in the morning. Any boating store can set you up with rope your grand kids will still be able to use. Solid core, no stretch works really well.

    Years ago I bought some poly webbing at Joanns. I figured it was a quick way to try it out as a temporary webbing before I ordered some "good stuff". I didn;t even sew a loop for my biner, I just tied one. Well that was years ago and hundreds of nights in the hammock and the webbing is only just now beginning to show any signs of wear. Not bad for a temporary piece.
