What webbing to buy for constant use?

I have always used cheap store bought webbing to use on my hammock trips. Usually the ones from hardware stores. When I go on 1-2 trips in the mountains they do just fine and I've these for months and months without noticeable wear and tear.

Recently though I've made a hammock stand for my home and am sleeping in my hammock every night. It took a few months, but eventually the straps (webbing) actually broke while I was sleeping in the hammock during the night... ouch.

So now I need to buy some new webbing, but what will last the longest with constant everyday use?

The webbing stretched more and more over time until it eventually pulled apart and snapped.

Yeah, he'll have some great heavy duty polyester webbing that will outlast you

I switched from polyester webbing rated for 1500 lbs to 3000 lb polyester for everyday use with cinch buckles. I find that 1" webbing rated higher than 3000 lbs doesn't feed through the cinch buckles as easily.

What kind of hammock stand did you make?

Is the suspension on your hammock a webbing only system?

I use 1/8" amsteel I whoopies for my stand, and I've used the same set 3-4 nights a week for a year without the slightest indication of wear

I get my stuff from strapworks. I think it is the best deal out there and the service is excellent. If you don't want to sew, you can get their "simple slings" - you pick the length of the strap and the size of the loop:

Polyester 1 1/2 inch

Seat belt 1 1/2 inch

Or if you are fine with sewing some loops, you can buy their Polyester webbing by the foot.

google readystrap.com, his name is Gary or rsgary on the forum and he will set you up at a very reasonable rate, get a pair of 3,000 lb straps and problem solved!, and they are cheap, he can even add loops or rings to them if needed
