    smaller then paracord line. help?

I have these spools of this cord that closely resembles paracord but on a thinner scale. I have been using it for underquilts and ridgelines but I have no clue what it is its military grade but don't know the weight it can hold any clues fellow diyers or ex military also its has a single internal strand

Could be any number of things. The outer could be nylon and the core could be nylon like Paracord. If so then the rating would be low. It could also be a nylon sheath with a higher strength core, lots of ropes are made that way. Very difficult to be sure without the manufactures specs and description. If you tie a length to a fixed anchor point and pull does it feel like it is stretching?

That is Shot-line. It is used by the Navy with a rifle to shoot lines across to a pier. I have a couple of spools in my gear from my time in the Navy.

Not just squids know what shot line is, lol. Ya'll beat me to the punch!!! That stuff is awesome, we used to make monkey fists with it for key chains. I forget what the rating on it is, but I know it will haul a wet 3 inch mooring line 200+ feet from the pier to the stern of the boat I was on.

I am not sure how strong it is either. I use it for lots if decorative knots and it makes good prussicks for my tarp lines.

It's shotline fer sher!!! Just pull the core out and splice it like Zing-it or Amsteel. If I'm not mistaken it's polyester with #250 BS. I could be wrong though, it's been a long time since my Navy days.

Be careful, it may be small but if it "parts", it can hurt you, synthetic snap back sucks, irregardless of the size of the line / small stuff.

Nylon has a nasty snap-back but if it's poly, it's almost nil. Be careful anyway!!! We don't know exactly what this stuff is.
