Well, it was quite the story. Noah Lamport issued a "call tag" so that UPS would come pick up the shipment and return it to the store free of charge. NL didn't tell me I had to be present at home at the time of the pickup or UPS wouldn't accept the package. UPS also wouldn't call to confirm a time that they would pick it up and didn't have any way for me to drop it off at a UPS shipping location. Eventually UPS agreed to pick it up without me being there if I described the package to them over the phone in excruciating detail. It's not like there was more than one package left on the front step that had Noah Lamport's address on it and the words "UPS return shipment" in black marker Eventually the package got picked up and 2 days ago the full refund hit my credit card. (I told them I wanted a refund- not a reshipment.)
In the mean time I ordered 18 yards of brown sil from Oware at 2.50/yd which came with free shipping and no cut fee. When I opened the package, not only did Dave send me the 18 yards, but he also sent another 3 yards of scrap pieces big enough to make some stuff sacks free of charge! I mentioned to him off handedly on the phone that I was going to make stuff sacks out of any extra sil I had. What a difference in customer service!
So I am making two Brown Cat Tarps in assembly line style. I have finished the ridge lines and sewn the corner reinforcements on both tarps. I hope to finish them both this weekend and test them out with one of my kids soon
