    Talking Sunshine State Hanging Around

Just getting started into hammock camping had one night so far and woke up feeling totally energized and rested! I was afraid at first due to back problems but found myself feeling totally relaxed, so relaxed that I returned my borrowed hammock and ordered me a HH Exp. Asem and can't wait to use it in about a week from now when I go camping with my sons scouts. I was going to make a DIY UQ with polyfill instead of down due to being in Florida I don't get the crazy cold like some and weight isn't a concern for this first DIY anyone have any suggestions on patterns? I've seen a few different ones around just worried about my first project. Thanks for the help. Jim

Welcome aboard from Lakeland Jim. There are quite a few hangers up in your neck of the woods. Might be short notice but a dozen or so of us are getting together this coming weekend In central Florida including a few from the Jax area.

With a good hammock, you will be looking for opportunities to go hang. Congratulations on your discovery. As old dog said, there are some good folks using hammocks in Florida, and on MLK weekend 2014, the FH4 will be in the Ocala NF at Bear Lake, great event and lots of fun, great opportunity to pick up tons of tips on using the hammock.

Short memory. Last year I came looking for Bear Lake, and drove right by where I was wanting to go. Had to call a friend to look it up on HF and set me straight. Thanks guys, some days I need all the help I can get.

    Welcome from Gainesville!

As the folks before me have mentioned, we have a couple of hangs coming up over the next few months (check out my signature, below, for the ones that I'm committed to so far).

As far as the pattern for your underquilt, here's one specifically designed for the Hennessy.

    Hope it helps!
