    Stiff webbing material

Good morning all.....after reading various posts about the subject I opted for 1.5" webbing material for the tree straps. Boy that stuff is stiff! Does anyone have advice for softening them up?
    Thanks
Update.... I thought the straps would be too stiff to use a MS hitch. Well today I got a chance to do some gear testing. I'm out in the woods and used a couple of sticks for toggles and other then being a lil chunky, the stiff straps work fine.
