    Haven't been there in awhile either. The HF folks congregate around the Shelter. There's a meadow a bit higher up (maybe a 10 minute walk...) where the "kids" welcome in the New Year.

    So, I am considering being there. Depends upon weather/driving conditions - almost 12 hours for me.

    Would love to be there for this. Can someone provide a rough idea of where to drive to/park and what the hike in looks like?

    New Year's Eve is Tuesday this year, so I wonder if most will come up Tuesday and go home on Wednesday? Might be more fun to go up Sunday night and stay three nights... I'm in desperate need of a nice chunk of time away from the grind. Anyone who's interested in making this a multi-day, holler.
