Did you check you pack for gremlins?

“Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it." -Terry Pratchett
I think my apartment has a small black hole. Stuff ends up where it wasn't all the time.
That could have something to do with my cat picking stuff up in her mouth and carrying it around like she's a dog, tho.
My ULA gravity filter disappeared for months. It showed up January in the closet I had stripped out and searched 6 times. Wasn't even in a bin, just sitting there on the floor behind a rolled up CCF pad. The last time I remember it, the filter in its stuff sack was in my hand as I headed for the bathroom to run bleach water through it prior to storage - I have no memory of actually doing so, nor do I remember ever returning it to the gear closet. WE are our gremlins.
Yeah, I'm currently looking for my headlamp. Let me know if you find it. Should be easy to tell it, it says "Cannibal" right on the headband.
Trust nobody!
Ours too.
The magic words to activate it to come take stuff are: "I'm going to put this in a place where I can find it easy next time!" OR: "I'm going to put this in a place where I wont fonget."
Now if only I could figure out the words to make it bring stuff back I would be golden.
I think our cats sometimes feed it.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

Hehehe . . . George Carlin knew about this--anyone remember that bit? Look here, half-way down the page, under "Loosing Things."

Doctari, your whistles just got back from the big pile of stuff in heaven!

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver
I just called my daughter to let her know I found one of her Christmas presents in the closet. I actually did pretty good. I found one before Christmas this year from 9 years ago. I wrapped it and put it under the tree. Luckily it wasn't time sensitive!
It's a joke every year of what did Mom loose this time!
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
