    Uwharrie Yates place fall 2013.

I have some pictures to post later today, but I just wanted to thank all those that helped, attended and made my weekend a truly wonderful time.
I am amazed that so many generations can gather in the woods and have such a good time. We all get to share and learn and enjoy the fruits of our labor. I am bad with names and even worse at spelling them. I will post something later today thanking as many as I can remember.

It was another great time-change weekend at Uwharrie!
    The trees were still aplenty.

Many new faces & some first time group hangers - always great to meet new people and share info.
The rain Friday didn't last long, at least for me... that late 4 pm meeting was a blessing in disguise.
Thanks to those that brought the canopies to keep us dry & processed firewood to keep us warm.

And a big thanks to all those that put together dinner and dessert on Saturday night. I think the hang should be rebranded the Uwharrie Fall Dutch Oven cook-off - it was all delicious.

The Dutchman's creek trail didn't get any flatter this year, and seemed a touch longer, though the hiking this past year helped me out. The trail had numerous blow downs to go up, around or thru to add to the fun. It was great to have BonePile, NCFree, HiknHanger and GroundHog join us on the "3 hour tour".

    Here's some pics:

    Great time

Sojourn and I had a good time making some new friends and catching up with some old ones. And the food...beyond amazing. Thanks to all who cooked!
Gentle raindrops and mighty oceans...neither can exist without the other.

I had a great time as always. I missed a lot of the faces I have always seen around the campfire, but enjoyed meeting the new folks.

The hike was challenging and fun, but I just wish Groundhog hadn't kept pushing us so hard! Thanks to Groundhog, Tallpaul, Bonepile & NCFree for such a fun time out in the piney woods.

A special thanks to Miyanc for organizing the hang & group dinner, and thanks to the cooks who shared with us as well. It was great all around. I am looking forward to the next time change!

Great meeting you and Harley. Little Spike liked Harley also.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
