    Another advantage of the Ridgerunner.

Since I've been hammocking (several years) I've always used my regular sleeping bag as a quilt mainly because it was such a hassle entering it and zipping it up. . Since purchasing my Ridgerunner I've discovered it's almost as easy entering and zipping it up as it was when tent camping. I attribute that to it's flat lay. I have often experienced drafty areas when in quilt mode but never when zipped up. Really...the Ridgerunner is the bomb in so many ways! I will gladly tote those poles on any hike.

Another happy RR customer. Still have yet to swing in one of these bad boys!

Another advantage of the ridge runner:

The pad pocket on the double layer version works great. I have an exped UL LW synmat (26"x78"x2.8") and I feel that it is made to work perfectly with the RR. No need for an undercover, because the exped mat is a waterproof air bag. The mat gives the RR more structure and helps for an even flatter lay. Lastly, the mat makes it easy to go to ground if there is an issue.

Since I hike a lot in the smokies, it makes sense to have a go-to-ground option because I occasionally stay in the shelters. It is not allowed to set up outside of the GSMNP shelters unless you are a thru-hiker and the the shelter is already full.

I could never get too comfortable in the gathered end hammocks I tried. There may be one out there with a perfect sweet spot for me, but I have not found it yet.

I couldn't agree more. When I get in a gathered end hammock with a bag, I almost get a hernia squirming to get into it. With RR, I can keep a pad and a bag motionless while I get in by simply putting my hand beneath me while I lower myself in. Easy. I just cannot do that with GE, although shugs idea of getting in the bag outside the hammock does work much better for me.

    Grin..where do the antlers go?
    Clever use award.
Ive been in mine as a full timer since mid may.
1.5 months of that being outside due to no air conditioning.
Despite my non conventional hanging techniques and constant experimentation there is still no signs of damage or thread wear.
With the use of hiking poles for spreader bars the system can also be part of a light kit with unrivaled comfort.
The addition of a second rr in netless single has dropped even more weight with the same comfort.
Hats off to warbonnet for a fine product.
