Thread injector accessories, what do you use?

I picked up a Singer 403A yesterday to replace my wife's cheap White that was dieing. The new machine came with several fancy feet. This opened my eyes to the wide array of accessories there are. So, I have two questions.
    1) Anyone know if you can use the bias thing to put grosgrain on tarp edges?
    2) What feet/accessories do you use when injecting thread that make life easier and why?

I use a regular zigzag foot, a zipper foot, a buttonhole foot and occasionally a roller foot. I've got other stuff, but it is usually too much bother for me to change when I am doing most of what I do. That's pretty much my whole arsenal. YMMV
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Standard zigzag foot and a zipper foot when needed.
    Thazzit.
Before I had the Pfaff machines with the top feed, I'd use a roller foot from time to time as well.

If you can find the operating manual for your machine, somewhere in there is probably a pic of each of them and operating instructions.

But don't worry, I've got at least three sets of accessories for my main machine that are collecting dust. I've been sewing for over 5 decades now and have tried using the ruffle attachment maybe twice - easier to do it other ways than to fuss with the darn thing.

I have been sewing since Eisenhower was in office. I found the toys that have been with various machines are all a PITA. Great fiddle factor for frustration. I just use a zipper foot and the zigzag.

If you look around, you will find many kits for sewing machines with all the little goodies looking like new, why because they are in new condition, why because they were either too difficult to install or did not work as intended for the average person.

So is the walking foot worth buying? Does anyone use a universal seam guide?

Some of the guys use the walking foot around here, I've never tried one and obviously don't miss it or I'd get one.

The 403A has a guide built in on the throat plate. I've added a temporary guide with a piece of masking tape when I needed something that wasn't already on the guide like a full 1" marking. The only time I would use an add-on guide is for quilting where you can't see the markings on the throat plate because of the material.
