so guys what are your thoughts on this, and would you be interested in buying one?,
To my untrained eye, it looks unneccessarily cumbersome and complicated. I noticed in one of the pictures that the "gear sac" was dragging the ground, and in the other pics it looks like you've got to really "hang 'em high" to keep all the crap off the ground (or out of the swamp, in one picture). And...why do you need an additional tarp for winter use? What is the inadequacy in the stock tarp that necessitates an "over tarp" for winter?

Not trying to knock the product...these are just questions I am asking the makers.

Mikesienk...are you affiliated with this company? Maybe you can answer these questions? Thanks!

I'll pass - too heavy, not flexible enough.

    I'm gonna pass, too.

It looks to me like a solution looking for a problem. Its fiddly and heavy and appears to be the kind of thing that is attractive to overly affluent granola munching latte sippers who have never really spent any time in the woods because of the way it looks rather than the function it performs. All I really need out of a tarp is for it to keep the rain, dew, and wind off of me, and not weigh a heck of a lot while in my pack.

    Nube Tent System

For those interested, I got my hands on a prototype and I am impressed. It provides HUGE coverage and will easily accommodate any 11' gathered end hammock. No it is not the lightest tarp option, but the wind and rain protection is amazing. I am going to hang in it next weekend and it will be windy and in the low to mid 20s at night. I will let you know how it does. Here is a YouTube vid I shot today which will allow you to see some of the detail better but the sound isn't the greatest. As for the Pares, hammock, I love it. It is like a ENO Double Nest on steroids and I have the xPlor hammock that hangs above it much like a bunk bed. It is perfect for camping with my daughter and is weight rated to 200lbs. Let me know if you have any questions.

At a minimum you should mention the owner is a "good friend" in the seven posts you posted to. I really don't mind the review but after all the astroturfing I'm not impressed with this company.

    Nube Tent System

Nope, not in advertising, just interested in the product. As for Richard, we have never met, I only know him because of the Kickstarter campaign. The opinion I have expressed is nothing more than my own interest in the Nubé.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am posting because I just got my hands on one and saw all the discussions. Just expressing my opinion. I don't know Richard personally, I am just one of the backers.
