I got A GRAND TRUNK skeeter beater and a few motorcycles that are ready to camp, but don't know where to begin.
anyone wanting to start a group around San Antonio(a suburb of HELOTES)
for camping, riding and general rowdiness leave a message.

Welcome to the forums. There's actually quite a few moto-hangers around here, myself included. There's also this thread where a bunch of the people with both motorcycles and hammocks share their tricks of the trade.

    Again, welcome!

P.S. What motorcycles do you have?
    - We're never going to survive this!!
    - Nonsense. You only say that because no one ever has.

Welcome viffer07...gonna assume you ride a VFR?

This site will be like trying to drink from a fire hose but stick with it...much knowledge here. Spend some time to fine tune but my recommendation is to sort out your kit in the backyard before heading out. Work your moto luggage into the prep too. The big mistake I made was not to listen to those who recommended I pay more attention to packed size but the first overnighter fixed that stubborn streak pretty good.

You will first want to sort out the how to of tweaking your hammock set up to bring maximum comfort. Then you will want to do the same with a tarp. Then insulation...I am big on down now for the packed size and comfort but others fare well with a ground pad and whatever sleeping bag they have.

My son is living in Midland/Odessa and is a backpacking hanger (I failed to infect him with the moto sickness) and I hope he will figure out how to connect with the Texas hangers (there are a bunch).

Welcome from CT!! I'd like nothing more than to hop on my FJR for a nice road trip to Texas, but my job is always getting in the way

Oh BTW the Shug has a series of videos here that are gold for beginning to advanced hangers. Well worth the time invested (can't use that word much).
