I thought I could spend my time on HF learning how to get this whole hammock business straightened out while not being distracted from the task at hand... And here I find out I’m gonna be sidetracked with bike talk?

This site impresses me more and more every day.

Motorcycles and hammocks are like peanut butter and jelly...some things are just made to go together. I almost said Peanut butter and bacon but then we all know bacon goes with pretty much everything. Don't turn up your nose, try it. I double Dawg dare ya.

No "nose turning up" going on here...
For the past 10 years I’ve never been happy with the quality of sleep I’m getting on the ground. I thought the solution to that problem would be finding a comfortable ground pad that packed up to a reasonable size. When I finally “found” that pad, I realized it didn’t amount to much because all to often I wake to find myself laying half-on and half-off the pad.
I’m not much of a betting man, but I’m predicting a big change to my style of camping in the next year.

You'll have a hard time finding anyone here who will take that bet. We'd all be on your side.
    - We're never going to survive this!!
    - Nonsense. You only say that because no one ever has.

I camp off the scooter most of the time, but went going an organized gathering they tend to want to stick campers out in the middle of big pastures so I do tend to keep some gear around to waller in the dirt.
Enjoy the hammocks the most when camping in the back country when on dirtbikes and don't have to deal with the regulatory agencies.

I was talkin' about the PB & bacon samich. If you are here it is almost a given you are going to catch the hammock sickness.
