I had to go back through the very long "New product for figure nine" thread and find out who really came up with this. Man that was a good thread. It was Schrochem that thought of it first and Rapt did some designing of it. Like usual I'm just a cloner. That is some pretty good interest so far. My employer was busy this morning but I will get some time tommarrow.

    Easily 4, probably 6.

If you read the thread in the last couple of days about what to do in the event of a complete tarp failure in a downpour, I said that my first course of action would be to immediately stuff all insulation into a large garbage bag. I think these "Dutch Clippers" could be unfastened quicker than a biner and the hammock, quilts, and all other contents could get into the bag maybe a few, critical, seconds sooner.

Would these little gizmos work with a tarp ridgeline?

They are much heavier then a small figure 9. You could tie your tarp off to it though, but I tend to tie the tarp lower then the suspension. The only advantage I see is you woudn't need as much line for the ridgeline to go around the tree.

How's it coming on the clips Dutch? I've given your picture of the clip to a fellow who may be able to make them. Haven't heard from him yet.

Count me in when making first batch!

I would be interested in 2. I saw Tim ( your wife did an excellent job on the zipper looked like it came new like that wish I'd had this on my thru hike) today to pick up my hh with a mod #2 and he told me about them. They would be alot less bulky than a binner and lighter.
