Be neat to have a UQ that had a snap portion on the last part of it so you could add or remove to make a 3/4 or full length quilt given the circumstances of your hike. Is something like this already in production?

Pan produced one that I use, but its no longer in production. About that time, shorter quilts like the Yeti were all the rave, and I think folks weren't willing to pay the couple of oz's more to have the option of having it both ways. IMO, that might be changing. Especially if there were some sort of multifunction for the short part.

Id detach the lower part and stuff it under my head as a pillow.

Decent idea, though its a little big for that perhaps. Maybe in a stuff sack and placed under the knees.

Thats true. Could be used under the knees for sure or possibly in conjuction with a top quilt.

I love the idea, and sure wish Pan made them again.
Pan you definitely need to revisit this. I think you will find a good niche for it now. I'd be in for it. Maybe a trial run to see if there is enough interest.

I am so pleased with my full length UQ that I have given the 3/4 length UQ that I had to a friend, since it was never in use. But mind you, I do not do extended hikes where weight could be a serious issue.
