I second this. I ran in to the problem that you are foreseeing. I have a 3/4 teWa. I felt confined to seasons though and then bought a Leigh lo 15 degree and love it as well. Now I have options, but I could have had the same options on more of a budget had I jumped on the 15 degree only.
But for me, I love the quilt options, and how light weight and compact my 3/4 is...I guess in other words I am thoroughly pleased with my quilt situation
Or you could get a quilt at a temperature rating that matches 80% of your hikes, then add a cheap CCF pad for those colder temperatures. I say this cause as/if you get more in to hanging, you are going to want the different quilts for different scenarios down the road...I originally thought I would use my tent in the cold temperatures...but look at me now lol.
