    DIY UQ; Seams

I've made an UQ out of DWR coated ripstop. It will be used on a Hennessey Backpacker. I'm wondering if I NEED to seal all the seams in this application. If so, would you recommend sealing before or after the down is inside?

This is my first DIY anything and it's gone well so far, so I don't want to screw it up now!

    No seamsealing needed for that.

You're not trying to keep water in or out of the seems, you're trying to keep water off of the quilt entirely (that down is precious)! So as dangerous said, none needed.

Unless you are trying to make your UQa vapor barrier then I wouldn't seal any seams. If you are trying to seal them to prevent down from escaping don't bother down will escape from other areas ( down is like water , it goes everywhere and gets on everything.) after awhile the down will stop escaping. Just make sure to use quality down do you don't have the quills poking thru the weave leading to excessive leakage.
