Gonna be cold in Chicago tonight!

Going to push some limits on some gear hopefully tonight :-)

Should get down to 10 f tonight and I'm going to try and keep warm in my Warbonnet sock, grand trunk ultra light, snugpak UQ and jungle bag Also have a sleeping bag liner and my under armor 3.0 base layers.

On a side note...I'm also trying out some homemade carbon fiber, 4 foot long, tarp supports I made at work today. I'll try to take better pictures in the morning, especially of the poles.

    Wish me luck!!!

Do the hot water bottle trick and you'll be toasty all night. Tarp's look/n good too.
    Good luck,

you can heat up water and then pour in a hot water bottle
(or Nalgene in the piney woods)
and keep it at your feet or in between your legs.

    Make sure lid is tight

Get a water bottle that you trust not to leak,(I prefer a slim stainless model, but a nalgene will do) fill it with boiling water and put it in a wool sock. Place sock covered bottle in hammock 10 min or so before bed and cover with your top quilt/sleeping bag. When you get into your already warm hammock then place the bottle between your legs on your femoral artery and it will keep you warm all night.
    Good luck,
