i'm just getting into hammocking, and i just slept a few nights in my hammock, and i cant fall asleep in my bed anymore! i currently use an eno singlenest (weight cap: 400 lbs), but im upgrading to a hennessy expedition classic, but you probably dont want the hassle with a bug net. the eno singlenest is probly a good choice, but it is expensive. diy is definitely the cheaper option, but be prepared to take time making it.

This is exactly what we did. Only stitching we did is at the ends, at the channel. We just stacked the 2 blanks, folded over about 3", and triple stitched through both blanks. The sides match up perfectly without stitches. We have found a blanket or "mattress cover" between the layers is needed, even in summer.

    It's there all right.
I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, make sure I stay here.

    You guys are awesome!

I ended up buying an ENO Doublenest just to get us through and I got a great deal on it! I've been overwhelmed with lots going on and it was hurting me to see my daughter sleeping on the floor every night not knowing when I will have time to get around to making the tablecloth hammock for her. This way, she will have something to go on a hang in the springtime and when I get around to the DL tablecloth hammocks, we can all color coordinate again for indoors.

Thanks to everyone who posted photos and suggestions. I would like to see this thread continue because I am infinitely curious about which hammocks people choose to sleep in full-time and why, and pictures, too!!!

@Michael, you had the best intentions making the custom bunk beds for your daughter, but can you really blame her for choosing the hammock every night? Is that a piece of silk you have over the top?

And, you have lots of good guest sleeping space!

The net is made from synthetic organza (sheer material) in a very light purple to coordinate with the hammock. Two sections are joined along the top edge with a matching purple striped grosgrain ribbon, and closed on the ends with some non-snag velcro.
