How should I store synthetic quilts???

I know when it comes to storing down, compressed for a short time is OK. When it comes to storing it in your closet you should keep it in a loose bag to let the down "relax". I use a lot of cheaper synthetic bags for the summer and wonder if it's OK to leave then stuffed full time, or does it also need to"relax"?

It's better for synthetic insulation to be stored in loose bags just the same as down. Any insulation needs to loft to provide its max insulation capability.

i have found that sythetic insulaiton takes longer to recover fully from being compressed than down.

yup, if anything you need to be more careful storing synthetic. compression/fluffing cycles will slowly break it down.

I store my Incubator and Burrow in a Cocoon mesh storage bag. Well worth the price to keep your quilts in good order.

I store my synthetic sleeping bags and down quilts under our bed in a giant bag designed to hold an artificial christmas tree during the "off season". It's about 2x2x5 feet. They're cheap and tough. We actually have 3 of them - one under each bed.

Here's one of the bags we have...

The shape makes it a bit easier to slide under the bed. Plus, with the zipper on the side, I can get something out without pulling the bag out from under the bed.
