Wooooo Hoooooo!!! My Old Man Winter arrived this morning and it's all set up in the back yard with my hammock and 20-degree UQ and TQ. Supposed to be 19 tonight in Nashville. I plan to see if my system works or needs to be tweeked (not twerked!).

All I got was a call from my bank asking if my charge to wilderness was fraudulent. I as nice as I could told her to pay the nice people so I can get my Christmas goodies. I hope their being watchful over my account didn't bump me to the bottom of the list.

Thank you, thank you. Takes some experimenting to get the bamboo lashings to work, but I got it.
Spent last night in my HH hammock with my DIY UQ (2" baffles, so supposedly 20-degrees) and my UGQ 20-degree Flight Jack TQ. Slept in thick long-john bottoms and top, with Buff around my neck and UGQ cap. Also used a liter Nalgene full of hot water, inside a sock. Used a sock to stuff the hole at the end of the footbox of the TQ. Also wore regular smartwool Costco socks. Used a small down pillow under my neck and head.
At 5:20 I got up because a backyard tree needed watering. It was 15 degrees on the thermometer I hug on the bamboo outside my new Old Man Winter rainfly from Wilderness Logics. Also still 15 degrees when I got up at 6:20 to come inside (the sun was coming up).
I slept comfortably with only a little shifting and adjusting the UQ during the middle of the night. There was no breeze.
Now I know I can survive at 14 degrees with my 20-degree gear and my OMW pulled to the ground and with the doors closed.

P.S. I discovered the actual low that night was 14 degrees.

OK I finely decided to get out of the hammock and take a few picts.
Ever wonder what a WL Full 15F UQ looks like with 1oz of extra down
in each of its 7 chambers?
Well wait no longer.
