WTB: women's backpack (new or used)

My girlfriend is going to New Mexico this summer for research and needs a pretty decent sized pack (4000-4500 cu). Any help? Advise? I've spent a couple weeks racking my brain, have come up with a few suspects, but it just now hit me to check here! Not looking to spend over about $100 so most likely a used pack. Thanks!

4-4500cu sized pack!! Is she going to be backpacking with this or just carrying it to a base camp and unpacking?? Reason I ask is, that's quite a large size you're talking about and she's gonna need to be pretty strong to carry it!!

I have a Lowe Alpine Contour Classic 90 + 15 that doesn't get taken out much anymore (I'm a recent convert to external frame packs). Looks like it's a bit bigger than you need, but back before I started using an external I would take it even on weekend trips and overnighters.

If you're interested let me know and we can talk about a price, I can send you pictures, etc.

she's 5'2". and yeah, that IS a really big pack! it's for a two-week trip where they'll set up a base camp(sort-of) and then i guess take smaller daypacks to collect and analyze tree-core samples (i know, pulling out peices of trees...every hammocker's nightmare ). I was kinda wanting to get some ripstop and maybe DIY her a daypack... maybe based off a golite model?

TinaLouise, you think THAT'S a big pack...and i'm sure you've seen this. but last trip my brother and i went on the guy with us at the bc shelter had a 5-5500 kelty pack... FOR ONE NIGHT!!! needless to say, we made fun of him =D

and tomsawyer, pm me with a price on that TNF. from looking at other sites i think it MAY be outta my range, but i do like it =)

at 5'2" your biggest challenge might be finding a pack that size that will fit her torso length. That's a big pack for the market available women;s packs I've seen (looking for my daughter and wife). It maybe an external would be the direction to go. Some them have very broad torso adustments.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

The critical measurement has yet to be determined... I have an 18" measurement from knob to tailbone, planting me firmly between most small packs and their medium sized equivalents. Granite Gear Nimbus Ozone would probably do well for the volume and for the ability to adjust to her specific needs - the frame is adjustable for narrower/wider shoulders, provides microadjustments for back length, and you can swap the hip belt out to larger or smaller as necessary by sending it to Granite Gear - they do it for free.

Has she been measured for a pack yet?
