What brand and teperature top quilt do you think is best. I live in the north east and hate the cold so wont be down below 32 - 35 ever if i can control that.

I use a full size 0* Incubator. Works great here in the winters we have in western Mass. If I ever have to augment it, I'll add my 3/4 size 20* DIY.

Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.

thanks so much for the reply. i tend to over analyze things.
I want to try to stay light as possible and have been torn between the 40s and the 20s
I haven't really heard of any vendors with any quality issues around here. You just need to do your home work and figure what you really want in terms of size and temp coverage. If you are serious about buying one, the next few days would be the time to do so because there a some nice sales going on.

After reading tons of reviews and post about underquilts over the last couple of days I decided to go with a 20-degree under quilt. I almost got a summer weight but read a lot about it and decided to get what would be comfortable now and add a summer weight later. Maybe DYI. I ordered from wildernesslogics after looking at a ton of other sites. I'm new so I may not be much help but I did the over thinking thing and am stoked about the gear I have coming- good luck with your purchase
There are a lot of awesome products out there. you can really make yourself crazy. I am really liking the hammock gear stuff seams to be well made
We'd recommend a 20* UQ for your best all around bang for the buck... Check out our BLACK FRIDAY SALE!!!! for some great deals.
There are lots of options. Perhapse if you fill everyone in more about your needs you will get help to narrow down the search.
Are you car camping or backpacking? Is pack volume or weight a consideration. Durability or preference to ultralight materials. Do you just have to have a particular color for your gear.
Honestly your first post would leave every under quilt made by every cottage shop an option to consider. Narrow it down by picking your priorities for the gear.
Just about all of us cottage shops have some specials going right now. Just be aware that because of that most shops will take anywhere from a week to over a month to make something right now so if timing is critical keep that in mind as well in your shopping.

Thank you everyone for your help
Did you order yet? Either one could work. But I'd easily recommend the 20°. I have one with +1oz down. I also have a 40° with +3oz and took it to 30° but can't guarantee comfort, even for myself sometimes (wind, set up, clothing etc. changes)
If you get a 20°, I'd say you've got easy comfort 20°-50° +/- 10° or so.
